Year 1
Summer Term in Year One!
Hooray we're back at our new school and we are loving our new learning environment! Each week we upload pictures of what we are doing in class to the Twitter news feed so please do follow us there.
This term In Years One and Two we are learning about Under The Sea. We have already transformed our role play area into a huge yellow submarine so you can just guess what song we'll be learning next!
We are already thinking about what we would like to learn and have created some popplets to organise our ideas. We are getting quite clever at this now and some of us can copy pictures and input them into our Popplets from the internet - we are a clever bunch!!!

OUTDOOR LEARNING
We love learning outdoors so during the term we will be sharing our experiences with you here. If you have any resources for enhancing our outdoor area for the Under the Sea theme we would be most grateful. We're looking for beach mats, fishing nets, sand moulds and sea creatures. Also if you have any books or stories about the sea or even postcards you no longer want these would make great reading and writing prompts. If you do go to the beach during the weekend look out for interesting stones or sea shells too!

We are reading the book Superworm by Julia Donaldson. We have been making jelly worms, making books about worms, building worm hotels, retelling the story, interviewing superworm and we are awaiting some real live worms to visit our classroom. Can you find out some interesting facts about worms at home. More exciting things to follow next week. What this space for pics on what we,ve been up to.
A secret Agent sneeked into our class and left a secret letter.
He used invisible ink!
We could only read it using the special magic pen he also left behind. He told us to go and look in our outside area and sure enough he had left us a box with special magic pens so we could write secret messages back to him.
