Growing Together To Be Our Best

Jukebox Juniors

Several of the children at Millbank have given up part of their lunch hour to make posters and T-shirts encouraging the community to vote in support of their friends in ‘Jukebox Juniors.’ This weekend at the start of Half Term the local dance group ‘Jukebox Juniors’ are performing in the final of sky TV’s ‘GOT TO DANCE’ competition, and they need your votes to win.

Miss Hargadon said “the children are thrilled to see their friends Darnell & Tevini appearing on national TV. Everyone who knows them and their sister Liara, knows that they are really nice young people and well deserve the success they have found with the dance group.

Mrs Brown reminded everyone that Darnell won our own talent competition "Millbank's got talent" during the summer fayre. It should only cost 5p to vote on a BT landline and the voting is only open for a few minutes. As we said in the newsletter only the bill payer can vote anyway and we would never encourage the children to run up your phonebill, but these are a very talent group, lovely people and really deserve your support.

Miss Allen said “Darnell & Tevini always used to take part in all the talent competitions at the school and were well known for their skills. They have always worked very hard on the dance, and we are all very proud of them. The children are all looking forward to a live performance at the school soon and I am sure it will encourage others to work hard and follow their dreams."

You can read some of the stories in our local newspaper the ECHO here (March 30 2009) and yesterday.

UPDATE the group performed brilliantly on the night and got through to the last three in the final. They did not get enough votes from the public to win the competition itself but everyone who saw the performance know that they are winners and we all wish them the success they deserve for the future.
