Growing Together To Be Our Best
The Juniors have all enjoyed their end-of-summer trip with a difference this year – a sleepover. We rented out the old farmhouse at the Amelia Trust Farm, which has been converted into a superb bunkhouse. Half of the pupils went on Tuesday night and the other half on Wednesday night.
All sorts of activities were organised, including swimming, sports in the sports hall, games, visits to see the animals, adventure-walks and much more. There was also plenty of time to relax and enjoy each other’s company, playing games, doing quizzes and telling stories, as well as a never-ending supply of food to keep our energy up. We walked up a stream, climbed muddy banks and swung on tree-swings. In the evenings we cosied up in the lounge for supper and hot-chocolate, then enjoyed going to our rooms for more chatting until the teachers turned the lights out. For many it was their fist time away from home, but everyone enjoyed themselves and getting to spend the night together with their friends.
A big thank you to everyone at the Amelia Trust farm for their help, as well as to Jo Smith for organising our complimentary visit to Cardiff International Pool. And a special thank you to all the staff who organised the trip and happily gave of their time to make this trip possible - even they really enjoyed it. Most of the pupils want the same trip again next year, and want to stay for longer!! They’ll have to work very hard and be very good for that to happen!
