Year 1 Spring Newsletter

This term, we are starting our whole school 'Eco Expo' topic, and, in Year 1, we are looking at 'Why are insects important?'. We are going to be using our technology skills to research a variety of different types of animals, and create fact files full of information for them. We'll use our literacy skills, coming up with adjectives to describe each insect, to help us identify them when we see them in our school grounds! 

We are really excited to learn all about what they eat and where they live, and we will be using our Forest School skills to build our own bug hotels. We can't wait to get started! 

 

Our books this term to support our learning are: What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson, and The Ugly Bug Club by Gail Abbitt.
