Millbank has a great reputation for after school clubs, in some ways they epitomise the school; They are great fun but the children really do learn much more than just the basics like rules and skills. In a recent survey we found every junior child is in at least one club, wanting to stay after school finishes is a great indicator of the popularity of the school too.
We are one of the first primary schools in all of Cardiff to have been awarded the QiSS mark in recognition of the high standard of out-of-hours learning that goes on in our school. QiSS stands for Quality in Supported Study you can visit their website here.
ESTYN again said in its 2007 report that "The provision for a range of extra-curricular clubs is an outstanding feature, providing pupils with excellent opportunities to take responsibility and show initiative". We have the usual Netball and football teams as well as Judo, Table Tennis, Dance, Music, Recorder, Debating club, Art, Busy Hands and Board game clubs. Children in the computer/camera clubs have taken many pictures for the website and made many animations to enhance it. Welsh/Urdd, science
We also include groups like the School Council here, and clubs that run to serve a special project. The PTA Governors and parents coffee mornings should all be here but are a bit shy when it comes to cameras.
