The SNAG group was set up with the help of'Food Matters / Bwyd o Bwys Project' a community health group, we do a lot of work with our neighbouring school Michaelstone Community College.

Apart from promoting healthy eating by means of education and petitioning, we also look at growing our own fruit and vegetables and the whole notion of Healthy Living.

You can see what we do on the noticeboard, whereby we keep pupils and staff up to date with meetings events training and our very popular taster sessions.
On Wednesdays we now get served 'cooked dinners' (a strange local term for roast dinner). This was introduced along with plates and cutlery because of request of pupils through the SNAG. Our fab cook Bev puts in a lot of extra effort to prepare the meals and cleaning up afterwards. The benefit is obvious we get a nutritious hot meal that gives us 4 of our 5 a day healthy eating portions, we avoid taking in lots of unwanted fat and addatives that come in processed food, there is also a lot more of it so we do not need to fill up on snacks afterwards.
These are some photographs we took of the schools two dinning areas. We often ask students how we can improve their food, the areas and we get some good suggestions which we can take back to the SNAG meetings. Pupils who have their own suggestions can either contact the SNAG members or use the suggestion box
